Doctors Visit

Today is Friday December 26th and I had another doctors appointment, I am starting to become best friends with my doctor for as much as I see her :) Thankfully everything is still going well, the heartbeat was strong and my belly is measuring another inch larger, how I'm not sure? I have been feeling really good lately, I hope it continues for the next 8 weeks.

SHOWERED with pink!

My mom and sister threw me a baby shower on December 23rd. What a fun shower, not one detail from decorations, to food had been forgotten. Baby girl got lots of fun things, including her very own tutu from her favorite Auntie Carrie! I was very fortunate to have many great friends there and I appreciate everyone coming to help me celebrate! Here are some of the fun pictures.

How cute are these cupcakes? With pink booties on top! They were delicious!

Here are some pictures of some of my favorite parts of the decorations, the clothesline of baby clothes. Which happen to be baby clothes Carrie and I used to wear as babies. The pacifiers made from life savers and the cupcake cake!

Baby Bump - 30 Weeks

OMG! I can't believe I am already 30 weeks along, and standing in my future daughters room. Only 10 more weeks or less before she is here!!! I just recently saw the doctor and she said everything looks good. My belly has grown again from 26 inches to now 30 inches. She thinks everything looks right on track. She is now weighing in at 3 lbs and is probably around 17 inches in length. As my belly grows bigger and bigger I know its getting harder and harder for her to move around in there, I am feeling jabs and pokes from elbows, knees, and her little butt. Sometimes it hurts!!! The cool thing is you can definitely tell when she is moving because you can see it and feel it on my stomach.

Babys Room

Here are all of her cute little clothes. I just finished washing them and hanging them up in her room. I am ready to dress her up in all of them!

Here is the finished baby's room, minus the crib. We are very excited at how cute it turned out especially with her bedding!

Third Trimester (already)

Well I am now a few days into my 28th week, which is the start of my 3rd trimester. I can hardly believe how fast it has all gone by. In 12 short weeks she will be here :) Al and I can hardly wait. We will for sure be busy the next few weeks with the holidays approaching and preparing her room and our house for her arrival.

I have (knock on wood) still been feeling pretty well. Occasionally I get leg cramps during the night and have a hard time sleeping, but other than that I feel pretty good. Her once little flutters are no longer, now they are full fledged punches (Which sometimes are uncomfortable). I have also started to be able to feel when she has the hiccups. It's becoming increasing more difficult to bend over, put on my shoes and get out of bed. I can't stay in a seated or standing position for too long or my back and lower stomach will begin to ache. I wonder as the last weeks go by what else I will experience?

The GodParents

We offically asked Aunt Carrie and Uncle Frankie to be the baby's godparents. They said yes and are going to make great godparents to our little girl!

Sweet Pea Shower

Over the holidays Al's parents graciously hosted a baby shower for us and the baby. It was a lot of fun and we got some great gifts for her. We were very fortunate to have many friends and family there to help us celebrate. Here are some of the fun pictures........

Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving Al and I headed off to sunny and warm(er) California for the holidays to spend time with our family and friends. This Thanksgiving we had a lot to be thankful for; good health, a great family, and of course the best gift of all our little girl who will be with us before we know it. Al and I reflected on the fact that this will be our last Thanksgiving as just a couple, soon we will have an addition to our family. We are both so anxious to meet her.

BabyMoon

This past weekend Al and I traveled to West Palm Beach for a weekend getaway or what I like to call our "Baby Moon." Our last little vacay before baby arrives. In a few weeks I will be restricted from flying so Al and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to head down south. The hotel was beautiful and we did a lot of relaxing and resting which we both needed. Who knows the next time we will be able to get away again.

Its a work in progress but here are some before, during and after construction shots. We hope to have babys room finished with all the paint by the end of this week. Al and I are very proud of the fact that we did this all ourselves!!!

Friday November 14th - Doctors Appointment

I saw my doctor today to have my blood drawn to test my blood levels and to check for Gestational Diabetes. Both tests turned out fine. I do not have any signs of diabetes and my blood levels look to be stable. Got to hear the heartbeat again, she is at 146 beats per minute, I never get tired of hearing that sound. Also she measured my belly, it has grown a whopping 6 inches since last time I saw her a month ago....ha! No wonder I look like I have a basketball under my shirt. Everything seems to be right on track.

Baby Bump 25 Weeks

Oh BELLY....its a baby! It is hard to believe how much my belly has grown in just the past month It feels like it has just happened overnight, and it looks like I have swallowed a basketball. She has grown to almost 2 lbs and now is about 9 inches in length.
She is very active these days moving and squirming about morning, noon, and night! Sometimes you can even see her little kicks create waves on my belly. I am quite the show at school, my students think my belly is a circus show. They love to touch it and feel her kick. These days it is becoming very humorous to watch me bend over, put on shoes and socks and get up from a laying down position. Pretty soon I am going to need a fork lift to get out of bed.
As my belly continues to grow, so do my "growing pains." I have strange leg and feet cramps at night, and my lower back is aching already. Good thing I just started my prenatal yoga last week. I now have an 'outie' belly button which is strange to see, and my skin around my stomach itches constantly as my belly continues to be stretched!
As I look back on the past 6 months I really don't have much to complain about. My pregnancy up to this point has been pretty easy and for the most part enjoyable. And I have really loved watching my belly grow! Now if only there was someway I can guarantee that my labor will be as easy!!!!
Tune in at the end of this week as I pay a visit to my doctor to see what she has to say......

Sono from October 14th - baby is 21 weeks

Its hard to see the pictures but from top left is the babies arm, she is flexing her bicep for daddy. Next is a picture of her tiny foot, which I can't wait to chew on! The bottom two are profile pictures of her, the last one she has her arm up resting on her head. Isn't she cute??? The sono apt. told us that everything looks right on track, she is healthy and growing like she should be! She is 13 oz and the length of a large banana. She is also beginning to suck down amniotic fluids that fill her very small tummy. Time for mommy to make sure to eat all the right foods, including all of my fruits and veggies so she will learn to like them.

I can finally feel when she is kicking me or doing belly gymnastics. What a crazy but really neat sensation. Al was also able to feel her kick me when he placed his hands across my belly. Now that I know the feeling she sure does do flips and turns frequently, especially at night when I am ready to go to sleep! Maybe we have a future cheerleader/tumbler in the making :)

PS. she is kicking me right now, I guess she wants to say HI to all of her future family and friends.

20 weeks down 20 to go

Happy birthday grandma Caslow... and on this beautiful afternoon
it is confirmed that Katie finally is growing a baby pouch.
The baby is now 20 weeks, we're at halftime and the name game continues.
Clothes are being bought, diapers also I think, and Katie
is on me about starting the room, ugh.

Happy Birthday Auntie Carrie!!

Baby Caslow is a GIRL!!!!!

Katie and I were fortunate this past week as we finally got the
first glimpse of our future DAUGHTER in her now new 16 week shape.
It was an incredible day, the emotion left me speechless but it left
katie in an unbelievable excitement. Everything with the baby appears
to be right on track and doing/going just fine. Having seen the kid-O
for the first time made me desperate to hold her. We cannot wait for her
to see sunshine.

Pink or Blue?

Thanks to our 15 week ultrasound we had done the other day (picture is coming I promise) I am pleased to announce that Al and I are having a .... BABY GIRL!!!! Bring on the pink!

Sorry for the Delay....

I apologize for the delay in our posts, we have had a broken internet connection as well as a dead camera. We just can't seem to get it together. But I promise soon we will post not only a new picture of me, but a new pictures of our baby as well. You will not believe the progress the baby is making already! It actually looks like a baby and not a blob! My 14 week appointment went really well, we heard the heartbeat again (157) and it seems like things are progressing nicely.

Let the Second Trimester Begin....

I have officially completed my first trimester safely and without much trouble! Now its on to the second trimester, which everyone says is the best of the three. I am thankful that during my first trimester I had very little "pregnancy symptoms" and felt really good during those 3 months. I think its safe to say the only symptom I experienced was lack of energy, but I guess I better get used to running on empty! Next week will be my 14 week OBGYN Appointment, I will let you know how it goes and will include a picture of my (slowly starting to grow) stomach!

July 28th - Doctors Visit

Today is Monday, July 28th (Happy Birthday Grandpa to be!!!) and I had my next OB appointment. Today we got to hear the heartbeat! It was very exciting. The heartbeat was loud, strong and so cute. The baby must of been excited about something because it clocked in at 177 beats per minute. That's up from when we had our sonogram at 144 beats per minute. Anyway the doctor said it was normal and everything looked good!! I go back to the doctor in a month! Only two more months till my next sonogram and we can find out if we should buy pink or blue!!!
